Employees are a company’s most valuable asset
Much of employee costs, both direct (medical claims) and indirect (absenteeism, lower productivity), are due to preventable factors. Lifestyle choices are responsible for 75 percent of the entire burden of illness and its associated costs in the United States.
Healthy Directions is an award-winning worksite wellness program designed by the North Idaho Health Network to improve employee health, avoid preventable health risks, decrease absenteeism, improve productivity and reduce health care costs.
Healthy Directions has received acknowledgement as a program of excellence in its achievement of the WELCOA Well Workplace designation of Gold for 2009 for its program implementation at Kootenai Health. In this accomplishment it has demonstrated development and implementation of an organization wellness initiative within the context of seven critical benchmarks, shown to produce results in organizations of all sizes and industry types.
Healthy Directions is distinguished by its utilization of local resources, onsite program coordination, and customizable workplace wellness options and is available to organizations within the five north Idaho communities. As the administrator of the various program components, NIHN provides assurance that health data is warehoused securely and is kept confidential from any outside entities.
