Simple Ways to Lower Your Cholesterol

arteries. The arteries become narrowed or even blocked. When the oxygen-carrying blood can no longer get to
your heart, you will experience pain and very likely a heart attack. But there is good news: You can usually lower your high
cholesterol by making some significant but relatively simple changes. l If you smoke, stop now. l Eat foods low in cholesterol and saturated fat and free of trans fats. The National Cholesterol Education Program recommends that you get no more than 7% of your calories from
saturated fat, and eat no more than 200 mg of dietary cholesterol each day. Your body produces all the
cholesterol needed to keep you healthy. Read more.
